The advertised salary range provided covers the entire compensation spectrum for the position classification. The anticipated hiring range for this role is between $93,911.76 to $115,041.91 annually. It's essential to note that the actual salary offered will be determined based on several factors, including skills, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, training, and internal equity considerations.

Special Requirement: Due to the supporting role of this position within the Police Department, a thorough background investigation, including a polygraph examination, will be conducted.

This senior-level professional role requires extensive experience and expertise in database management. Database Administrators are pivotal in efficiently utilizing database resources to meet organizational goals.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
The following are intended to describe core work functions of this classification.  While the level and broad nature of essential duties may not change, specific work tasks will vary over time depending on the Town’s needs.

  • Design, implement, and maintain database systems to meet organizational requirements, including extracting and/or loading data.
  • Monitor database performance, troubleshoot issues for optimal performance and availability, and configure servers and databases.
  • Ensure data integrity, security, and compliance with relevant regulations, setting up cybersecurity measures, and ethically handling private data.
  • Develop and implement backup and recovery strategies to protect critical data, preserving data integrity, and authenticating data.
  • Optimize database systems for efficiency and scalability, including monitoring the performance of hardware and software, and ensuring all hardware and software are updated.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to integrate databases into applications and systems, providing technical support and guidance on database-related matters.
  • Evaluate and recommend database technologies, tools, and methodologies for enhancing capabilities.
  • Experience with Tableau, Python, SSRS, Power BI, and related data analytics tools.
  • Performs related work as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (at job entry)

Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in information technology, business administration, public administration, or related field and 6 years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of directly related education and experience.LICENSING/CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
  • Driver’s License;
  • Maintain all certifications/licenses required at job entry.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
To be eligible, incumbents cannot be on the Office of Inspector General (OIG) list of Excluded Individuals/Entities (LEIE).
