Public Works currently has 1 vacancy to fill in the new Recreation and Aquatic center at the Frontier Family Park. This recruitment may also be used to fill future vacancies in either the Aquatic Center assignment or the general Facilities assignment. Positions assigned to this class are responsible for performing skilled maintenance, preventative maintenance, and repair work in and on Town buildings and facilities in areas such as plumbing, custodial maintenance, painting, carpentry, remodeling tasks, HVAC, commercial aquatic equipment (depending on assignment) and other basic building trades.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
The following are intended to describe core work functions of this classification. While the level and broad nature of essential duties may not change, specific work tasks will vary over time depending on the Town’s needs.
Installs, repairs, and maintains plumbing systems including plumbing fixtures, water lines, and sewer lines.
- Remodels, renovates, designs, fabricates, estimates, constructs, and maintains structural elements including cabinets, lockers, bookcases, walls, partitions, ceilings, roofs, windows, doors, overhead and roll up doors, electronic/electrical door openers, laminate and solid surface counter tops, floors (carpet, vinyl, ceramic, and wood) and welding.
- Installs and maintains electrical systems including lighting systems, power distribution system, ballasts, switches, electrical receptacles, conduits, and cables involving voltages from 120volts to 480 volts.
- Perform inspections, repairs, maintenance, preventive maintenance, installation, and calibration of various types of equipment and systems including HVAC equipment (air handling units, roof top units, cabinet heaters, thermostats, evaporative coolers, chillers, piping, control systems (pneumatic, digital, etc.) and air compressors); utilize applicable digital management system in assessing HVAC equipment status.
- Operates and maintains swimming pool mechanical systems, including filtering, chemical control, pumping, cleaning, electrical, and plumbing systems (assigned to Aquatics Center).
- Performs daily inspection on all aquatics equipment (water slides, diving boards, etc) and schedules or performs repair as necessary (assigned to Aquatics Center).
- Performs maintenance and repair work on swimming pool decks, pool walls, and floor areas (assigned to Aquatics Center).
- Responds to and completes assigned work orders involving emergency, routine, basic or complex preventive maintenance.
- Performs related work as assigned.
Education and Experience:
A High School Diploma or GED; and 3 years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of directly related education and experience.
Licensing/Certification Requirements
- Driver's License;
- Licensure in a trade;
- Current E.P.A. refrigerant handler’s license (Class 2 or universal) or have the ability to obtain within 90 days of hire or promotion date;
- Certified Pool Operator (CPO) within 6 months of hire or promotion (Aquatics Center assignment);
- Maintain all certifications/licenses required at job entry.
Special Requirements:
Salary : $54,523 - $76,331
