Job Summary
Employee supervises lifeguards and concession’s attendants and ensures the safety of patrons and equipment of the Town pool. This position is under the supervision of the Parks, Recreation & Grounds Maintenance Foreman, Public Works Supervisor, and Public Works Director.
Duties
- Monitor the Town swimming pool and environment to ensure safety of the general public; ensure compliance with Town, state, and federal safety rules and regulations; take corrective action as needed.
- Perform water rescue and resuscitation as necessary.
- Completes incident and accident reports as needed and submits to the Public Works Department.
- Supervise rendering or render general first aid as necessary.
- Supervise or operate cash register to collect fees from patrons, balance cash drawer.
- Prepare bank deposits in the absence of direct supervisors.
- Responsible for day-to-day maintenance of the swimming area and recording chemical levels of the main pool & wading pool.
- Ensure cleanliness of pool deck area and bathrooms.
- Check safety equipment on a regular schedule to ensure proper functioning.
- Scheduling of lifeguards and concessions attendants for regular operating hours as well as for private events (e.g. parties, swimming lessons, Town functions, etc.).
- Coordination with the swimming and diving teams to ensure proper staffing for practices and meets.
- Other duties as assigned.
Experience
- Certifications in lifesaving, CPR, and first aid.
Job Types: Full-time, Seasonal
Pay: From $19.25 per hour
Expected hours: No more than 40 per week
