The Town of Snowmass Village is looking to hire a Maintenance Operator I to join our Facilities Division in the Public Works Department!
This is an in-person position
1,000 sign-on bonus available!
We are looking a Facilities Maintenance Technician that will perform a variety of building maintenance and repairs.
Some of the day-to-day duties are listed below :
- Maintains, diagnoses and repairs a variety of facility components including but not limited to electrical system, lighting and lighting control system, overhead doors, thermocouples, water softeners, plumbing fixtures, basic plumbing and associated restroom features, heat tape and controls, pressure washers and similar devices.
- Maintains and repairs facility components such as doors and associated hardware, windows, siding, trim, drywall and interior finishes, roofs and roofing systems, flooring, general carpentry, painting, tile, and other facility finishes, systems and components.
- Performs demand and preventative maintenance and repairs on natural gas fired boilers and heating systems, snowmelt systems; HVAC, air conditioning and air handling equipment; various types of pipes, plumbing, and high voltage and low voltage electrical systems as well as various types of Building Automation controls.
- Performs preventative maintenance tasks in a timely manner with attention to detail of the entire system being serviced; notes defects, communicates to supervisor and conducts maintenance in a
timely manner to minimize the impact on the specific operation of each facility.

The ideal candidate has the following qualifications / skills :
General all around repair technician who possesses a knowledge of carpentry, electrical, plumbing, overhead doors, lighting controls and applicable repair work;
Working knowledge of HVAC, mechanical, and Building Automation Systems;
Knowledge of cleaning methods, materials, and building equipment;
Knowledge of the hazards involved and safety precautions needed in custodial and building mechanical maintenance work; ability to arrive at logical conclusions in emergency situations;
Ability to perform moderately heavy manual tasks requiring the full range of body movements;
Ability to maintain routine records;
Ability to follow written and oral instructions;
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with building user and groups; computer experience necessary to track work orders and scheduling.
Any combination of experience and training equivalent to graduation from high school and a minimum of three years' experience in building maintenance work.
Some supervisory skills and ability to oversee large construction operations, as well as commissioning and involvement in developing and assisting in new town owned buildings.
Possession of a valid driver's license.
Possession of own appropriate tools and knowledge to use them
