Cashier / Receptionist (Public Works)
Wages/Hours: $27.10 - $31.69 / Hr. (2024 pay scale)
30 hours per week

Position Description:
The incumbent receipts payments (miscellaneous fees / utility payments), registers utility customers, issues permits, initiates/monitors work orders, serves as radio dispatcher, and performs receptionist functions for the Town of Steilacoom.

Minimum Qualifications:
1. High school diploma or GED equivalent.
2. Two years’ experience in cashiering and customer service.
3. Operate a 10-key adding machine by touch.
Prefer: Familiarity with the VISION cash management system and/or VISION utility billing system.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to maneuver in an office environment. Requires clear oral/written communication to receive/provide information to the public. Must possess manual dexterity sufficient to efficiently operate computers and a variety of office equipment. The incumbent experiences prolonged visual exposure to a computer monitor and is occasionally required to lift/move file boxes weighing up to 30 pounds.
Terms of Employment:
This position is eligible for benefits. The position is not covered by a collective bargaining agreement.
