Status: Seasonal April 21st– October 17th
This position will perform general parks, trails and open space maintenance and repair. The position will be responsible for assigned parks and trails and will assist in other areas as needed. This position will work some Saturdays and will be on a rotating basis with other parks staff.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
- Performs a wide variety of tasks on various projects including minor repairs of existing facilities, assisting with park maintenance, sprinkler system repair, town property maintenance and landscaping
- Works with tools and equipment necessary to provide park maintenance operations, weed control, painting, and landscaping
- Use and/or operation of hand and power tools, rakes, shovels, picks, brooms, tools, and implements; hand saws, lawnmowers, and weed eaters
- Maintains trees, shrubs, and beds throughout the Town by watering, pruning, trimming, planting, removing, weeding and chipping. Identifies and coordinates the pruning and removal of high-risk trees and shrubs
- Maintains landscape throughout the Town by watering, planting, pruning, weeding and enhancing hardscapes
- Always follow workplace safety rules
- Follow written and/or verbal instructions and communicate with others
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers
- Handle difficult situations with tact, patience and good judgement

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Requires the ability to establish and maintain effective working relations with superiors, fellow workers, and the public
- Knowledge of safe work practices in the operation of light equipment and power tools
- Ability to maintain hand and power tools and do minor repair work using hand or power tools
- Ability to perform strenuous physical work for extended periods of time
- Must possess a valid Colorado Driver License and have a safe driving record
- All applicants must successfully pass a post offer background and pre-employment drug screening to the satisfaction of the Town
- Minimum 18 years of age
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
High school education or GED equivalent.
