What are the responsibilities and job description for the Park Ranger-Part Time position at Town of Trumbull?
The PT Park Ranger serves as a positive presence, as a deterrence to misbehavior in the Town parks and assures that the safety and the well-being of park users is properly maintained.
- Provides customer services to park users.
- Informs patrons of the Town's rules, regulations, ordinances, and municipal codes pertaining to the use of the parks and the facilities.
- Patrols and monitors parks and Town owned land for damage or safety hazards to the grounds, facilities and playground equipment. Reports any incidents to the appropriate personnel.
- Anticipates and solves problems, responds to complaints and educates the public on park safety.
- Call for police assistance when needed. Completes corresponding incident reports as necessary; may verify user permits.
- Responsible for park security
- Interacts with the public, staff and organizations using the parks.
- Responsible for maintaining order in the parks and fostering an atmosphere of cooperative fun and respect among park patrons.
- Responsible for assuring that the park facilities and equipment are maintained in a neat, clean and orderly condition at all times and that any and all equipment issued is maintained in working condition at all times.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Hours may include Monday-Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Holidays.
- Possible 19 hours or more per week during the summer season.
