What are the responsibilities and job description for the Seasonal Dockmaster/Launch Operators position at Town of Wareham?
The Town’s Human Resources Department, on behalf of the Department of Natural Resources, is accepting applications for the full-time or part-time, temporary, seasonal positions of Seasonal Dockmaster/Launch Operators. These are non-benefited, temporary positions that will run from approximately May/June through September/October. The pay is hourly plus tips.
All applicants must be at least 18 years of age and possess the following:
Education/Requirements: High School Diploma or equivalent, current Massachusetts Drivers License, CPR and first responder certificate, completion of a USCG and Commonwealth of Massachusetts approved boating safety course. Possession of a Merchant Mariners License is preferred. A USCG Limited Master’s License and TWIC card is required and applicant must have the ability to swim. Subject to CORI/SORI, pre-employment physical, drug testing and driver's license check.
Responsibilities: Seasonal Launch Operators’ responsibilities and requirements include but are not limited to, safe and timely transportation of boaters to and from their boats, good public relations skills, general maintenance/upkeep of Town property, ability to operate a vessel during nighttime hours and moderate physical effort required in the performance of the job. Must be able to work in all weather conditions.
