The Assistant Camp Director works closely with the Camp Director in assisting with the administration and daily operation of the Buena Vista summer day camp program.
Job Duties:
- Assists the camp director in acting as a host for the camp and its community
- Keep open lines of communication with the camp director on a daily basis
- Assume the responsibility of the camp director in their absence
- Required to stay on the property during hours of operation
- Assist in emergency situations
- Assist the Camp director/Hiring manager with screening new candidates
- Work with other leadership team members to carry out staff week training training schedule
- Directly supervise group counselors
- Provide support and guidance to Counselors in training
- Orchestrate with the camp director check-in and check out procedures
- Apply behavior management techniques to conflicts with children when necessary to solve any camper issues
- Work as a team player
- Report any and all maintenance issues to Rink Management
- Set a good example for campers and staff in terms of cleanliness, punctuality, manners, appropriate language, and appropriate attire
- Report all incidents/accidents to the director immediately
- Comply with personal policies
- Provide excellent customer service to other staff members, campers, parents, guardians, and other visitors to camp
- Accept other responsibilities as deemed necessary by the camp director, Rink Manager, and/or Assistant Rink Manager.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 21 Years of age.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent of at least two (2) years of experience in administrative, supervisory camp positions.
- Posses a valid driver's license
- Demonstrates ability to guide/supervise other adults
- Clearance through the sex offender registry and criminal background check for personnel file
- Willingness to place the needs of the campers as a priority
-Demonstrate sensitivity to the needs of the campers
-Demonstrate enthusiasm, sense of humor, patience, self-control and ability to adapt weell to changing situations
-Possess strength and endurance required to maintain constant supervision
-May be required to supervise Buena Vista vacation camps
Job Types: Full-time, Temporary
Pay: From $19.50 per hour
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
