Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Camp Director to lead our summer camp program. The Sports Director plans, designs, develops, and implements a summer camp sports program for children in grades K–4. This role includes managing all sports-related activities, supervising staff, and overseeing equipment operations. Ensuring a safe, enjoyable environment for both employees and participants is a primary responsibility.
Duties
- Program Management: Oversees and manages the sports portion of the camp, including daily programming, activity setup, and cleanup. Assists the Camp Director with non sports-related duties as required.
- Daily Schedule: Prepares and implements a structured, age-appropriate sports schedule for all grade levels.
- Inventory Oversight: Conducts initial and final inventories of sports supplies and equipment, recommending purchases as needed.
- Staff and Child Evaluations: Participates in evaluations and provides a year-end report with assessments and suggestions for improvement.
- Safety Management: Ensures a safe environment for all staff and participants.
- Communication: Maintains consistent communication with camp staff regarding sports activities and responsibilities.
- Other Duties: Performs related tasks as required
Experience
- Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in parks and recreation management, physical education, elementary education, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum one year of experience in a physical education or recreation setting. Previous supervisory experience is highly desirable.
- Alternative Qualifications: A combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of this position.
