Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Camp Director to lead our summer camp program. The STEM Leader plans, designs, develops, and implements a summer camp STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) program for children in grades K–4. This role involves managing all STEM-related activities, supervising staff, and maintaining equipment. Ensuring a safe, engaging, and educational environment for participants and staff is a key responsibility.
Duties
- Program Management: Oversees and manages the STEM portion of camp, including creating daily programs with hands-on activities in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. Assists the Camp Director with additional non-STEM-related duties when required.
- Daily Schedule: Develops and implements a structured, age-appropriate daily schedule of STEM activities for all grade levels.
- Resource Management: Conducts beginning and end-of-season inventories of STEM supplies and equipment, recommending purchases as needed.
- Staff and Participant Evaluations: Assists in evaluating staff and children, providing a year-end report with assessments and suggestions for program improvement.
- Safety Management: Ensures a safe, educational, and inclusive environment for all staff and participants.
- Collaboration and Communication: Coordinates with camp staff to integrate STEM activities seamlessly with the broader camp schedule.
- Other Duties: Performs related tasks as required
Experience
- Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in STEM education, science, engineering, technology, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of one year of experience teaching or facilitating STEM activities for children. Previous supervisory experience is highly desirable.
- Alternative Qualifications: A combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of this position.
