Tennis Professional - Afternoons / Evenings Summer 2025
Game...Set...Are you the Match? If you have a passion for tennis, are a professionally-certified player, and want to pass on your talent and knowledge of the game, then you're the match the Town of Westwood is looking for to fill the part-time position of Tennis Professional this summer. In this seasonal position you will implement camp tennis lessons from 3 : 30-4 : 30 PM and then private lessons between 5 : 00-8 : 00 PM, as scheduled, from June to August.
Responsibilities and duties include the following :
- Create and implement lesson plans suitable to the participant's skill level.
- Familiarize participants with the rules, regulations and etiquette of tennis.
- Demonstrate sportsmanship and deliver a positive learning experience.
- Provide and maintain a safe environment for all participants.
- Enforce all health and safety regulations, and relay all concerns to the Recreation Program Manager.
- Ensure the general safety and skill development of the participants.
- Provide high quality recreational experiences for participants that focus on the Recreation Department's core values of safety, fun, responsibility and respect.
Qualifications and experience : Minimum of 5 years' teaching or coaching experience. USPTA or PTR certification preferred. An ability to connect with a wide range of ages and playing levels and build cooperation. Excellent communication skills essential. First Aid and CPR certifications are required within the first 90 days of employment (Westwood Recreation offers convenient staff classes for a fee).
Schedule requirements :
Salary : This is a seasonal, non-benefit position with a starting hourly rate between $25.00 - $50.00 depending on experience and certifications.
