Hiring Range: $15.02 - $15.96 hourlyWork Schedule: May work up to 19 hours per week; schedule varies, depending on the needs of the center and department NATURE OF WORKAs a member of the CRC-Expansion Division, individuals in the Fitness Attendant - U18 position must work successfully in a team-oriented atmosphere that provides citizens and other employees with accurate information, excellent customer service and human-relations skills. This position is primarily responsible for serving the needs of the patrons in the fitness areas. Must be accountable, flexible and adept at conflict resolution and aware of potential safety hazards in the fitness areas. Individuals in the position are required to perform work in a manner consistent with and exemplary of the town’s PRIDE philosophy and the town’s Equal Opportunity Employment policy.SUPERVISION EXERCISEDNo supervisory responsibilities or control exercised.SUPERVISION RECEIVED Individuals work under the direct leadership of the Recreation Supervisor – Aquatics & Operations to carry out assigned duties, functions, roles, and projects in both routine and complex circumstances.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONSThe individual in the Fitness Attendant role is assigned specific assignments, job duties, scope, authority, responsibility, roles and requirements as determined by the town, department, division, and pursuant to laws, regulation and practices. Individuals in this position must be able to successfully perform, be responsible for, and/or assist in the fulfillment of many job functions and duties, with or without reasonable accommodation.The following duties and responsibilities are illustrative of the primary functions of this position and are not intended to be all inclusive: Ensures that cleanliness, safety and injury prevention policies and procedures are adhered to by participants; reports accidents and prepares accident reports, as required. Follows and enforces the rules, regulations, policies and procedures, as well as the rules specific to each area of the facility.Welcomes participants to fitness areas, provides equipment orientations to new members and offers assistance. Routinely communicates with participants to assess their well-being.Demonstrates continuous effort to improve operations, streamline work processes and work cooperatively to provide quality customer service and positive public relations.Maintains vigilance for potential accidents in the fitness areas and surrounding facility and appropriately corrects any problems. Physically patrols areas of responsibility every 10 minutes or as needed.Responsible for housekeeping duties in Cypress/Willow/wellness/track and gym areas which include, but are not limited to, cleaning fitness equipment, washing and drying cleaning rags and mops.Replenishes supplies in fitness areas, such as cleaning wipes and cleaning bottles.Assists with daily set up and tear down of community room rentals/events. Performs other related duties as required.OTHER DUTIESDepending on organizational need, additional duties may include the following: Operates a personal computer including associated software programs.Performs related duties as established by law/ordinance or reasonably directed by the town.Assists other town departments/divisions, as necessary.
