PRESCHOOL SUBSTITUTE TEACHER
Monday – Friday mornings 10 – 20 hours per week
The Preschool Substitute Teacher is a part-time position in the Recreation Division. Under the guidance of the Lead Preschool Teachers, the Substitute Teacher assists in the implementation of the daily curriculum activities for the children (ages 2.5 – 5 years) while creating a safe and attractive classroom environment that supports a quality preschool program for optimal grown for child development. Other tasks include following the daily schedule, using positive discipline techniques, and assisting with setting up and clean up. Applicant must have the ability to build relationships with families and co-workers and to create a dynamic environment where play and learning happens. This position will also occasionally require staffing at Town Events; such as, holiday event, summer events, specialty preschool classes, and summer preschool camp.Monday – Friday mornings 10 – 20 hours per week
Typical Qualifications:
A high school diploma and coursework in Early Childhood Education is required; three units of Early Childhood Education are desired along with two years of experience working with young children. Spanish speaking is desirable, but not necessary.Supplemental Information:
