Part-time Seasonal Aide in Water, Environmental and Sustainability (WES) needed to assist the Water, Environmental and Sustainability Division within the Public Works Department. Position may be assigned to work in the Storm Water, Water Quality or Water Conservation programs. This position’s duties include but are not limited to the following:
- Assist Program Manager in environmental programs;
- Compile and prepare information for mandated reports for various agencies on water consumption, demand management (water conservation), storm water quality/water quality compliance;
- Develop outreach materials such as social media posts or short newsletter articles;
- Assist with the planning of, and occasional attendance at, informational and/or volunteer public outreach or public engagement events;
- Provide administrative and promotional support for the various programs;
- Attend staff safety meetings and trainings as required;
- Prepare and update Excel spreadsheets and Word tables for regulatory agency reporting.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office: Excel, Word, PowerPoint;
Desired qualifications:
- Related coursework in Environmental Sciences, and/or experience in researching and applying federal, state and local environmental regulations;
- Proficient in graphics design software such as Microsoft Publisher or Canva
Must be able interact with the public both in person and over the phone in a positive and professional manner, provide exceptional customer service, and establish effective working relationships. Must demonstrate accuracy and attention to detail and follow through on assigned related tasks. This position reports to an Environmental Program Manager, as assigned. This position works primarily in the office and occasionally in the field and must be able to work in both office and outside environments. Under the direction of the Environmental Program Manager, must be able to work independently.

A Background, fingerprint check and physical exam will be completed before date of hire.

Salary : $20 - $24
