This is a fantastic opportunity for a PTA who enjoys variety and working with a diverse patient population while exploring new locations. Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) Responsibilities:
Patient Support: Assist in conducting patient assessments by gathering relevant medical history, observing patient mobility and function, and collaborating with the physical therapist to contribute to individualized treatment plans.
Treatment Plan Implementation: Execute therapeutic exercises and interventions as outlined in the treatment plan developed by the physical therapist, focusing on improving strength, mobility, balance, and overall functional independence.
Therapeutic Interventions: Provide hands-on support during therapy sessions, utilizing techniques such as range-of-motion exercises, gait training, and functional mobility activities to help patients achieve their rehabilitation goals.
Equipment and Modalities: Safely operate and instruct patients in the use of physical therapy equipment and modalities, including therapeutic exercise equipment, electrical stimulation devices, heat/cold therapy, and assistive devices.
Documentation: Maintain accurate and timely records of patient progress, treatment activities, and responses to therapy, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations and facility protocols.
Collaboration: Work closely with the physical therapist and other healthcare professionals, including occupational therapists, speech therapists, nurses, and physicians, to ensure comprehensive and coordinated care.
Patient & Family Education: Provide guidance and education to patients and their families on therapeutic exercises, home exercise programs, and strategies for maintaining mobility and strength outside of therapy sessions.
Safety and Monitoring: Continuously monitor patients during therapy sessions to ensure safety, adjusting activities as needed to prevent injury and optimize therapeutic outcomes.
