What are the responsibilities and job description for the Front Desk Clerk/Night Auditor position at TownePlace Suites by Marriott?
Must be able to work overnights. 10p-6a Weekends and weekdays included.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Hotel front desk experience preferred but not required
- Frequently standing up behind desk and front office areas
- Carrying and/or lifting up to 30 pounds
- Handling objects, products, and computer equipment
- Basic computer skills to operate various property management systems
- Being passionate about people and service
- Strong communication skills
- Reading and writing abilities
- Basic math skills when handling cash/credit
- Problem solving skills
- Must have ability to work flexible schedule (nights, weekends, holidays)
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Welcome guests in a friendly, prompt and professional manner
- Check guests in, issue room keys, provide information on hotel services and room location
- Answer phones in a prompt and courteous manner
- Answer and process all guests calls, messages, requests, questions, or concerns
- Check guests out, including resolving any late or disputed charges
- Accurately process all cash and credit card transactions using established procedures
- Work as part of a team and communicate with other departments as per hotel procedures to ensure excellent quality and service
- Take action to solve guest problems/complaints using appropriate service recovery guidelines
- Follow established hotel safety protocols and procedures at all times. Immediately report any health and safety incidents, security breaches, concerns or suspicious behavior to the supervisor or manager on duty
- Routinely book guest reservations that are requested either by phone or from within the hotel; process cancellations, revisions, and information updates
- Perform other duties as assigned by manager including (but not limited to) guest room tours, concierge services, etc.
