Townsen Memorial Hospital is looking for a Medical Receptionist to join our team!
Medical Receptionist's duties and's work encompasses many tasks such as greeting patients, scheduling appointments, performing clerical duties, and providing medical procedural support. Exhibits professionalism at all times while answering inquiries and providing information to the general public, visitors, patients, and other interested parties regarding activities conducted at establishment and location of departments, offices, and employees within the organization. Supports medical
staff by completing administrative requirements as assigned.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :
- Demonstrates customer service standards (smiles and makes eye contact, greets each patient and visitor, seeks out patient and visitor contact, displays appropriate body language at all times, take 5 minutes each day to go
above and beyond for one patient or visitor, honor diversity and thanks each customer / patient)
Greet patients as they arrive into facility and provide them with appropriate informationAssist patients to complete all necessary forms and documentationEnsure completeness and accuracy of patients' forms and logs all demographics in EMR systemUpdate patients' information into databaseMove patients through appointments as scheduled. Keep patient appointments on schedule by notifying provider of patients' arrivalRespond and comply to requests for information including sending faxes and e-mailsAnswer telephone and deal with inquiriesTransfer calls as requiredDirect calls and messages to appropriate medical office staffMaintains patient accounts by obtaining, recording, and updating personal and financial information into e-clinicalObtains revenue by recording and updating financial information; recording and collecting patient chargesCall patients and remind them of their appointmentsKeeps patients' family's informed of patient statusSchedule and reschedule patients' appointmentsUpdate appointment calendarsCreates and labels appropriate charts for patient'sManage filing and record keeping activities; obtains all necessary documents related to the patient chart as neededCoordinates mail flow in and out of officeMaintain stock of forms and office suppliesEnsure reception area is well maintained, neat and clean, including the magazinesEnsures all vendors and visitors are signed in and processed according to facility policyPerforms other related duties as assignedKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES :
