Townsen Memorial Imaging is hiring for a PRN Multi-Modality Technologist in the Spring / Humble, TX area . The Multi-Modality Technologist is responsible for operating a magnetic resonance scanner to obtain images used in the diagnosis and treatment of patient pathologies. The Multi-Modality Technologist position provides direct assistance to
physicians with all diagnostic procedures, delivering exceptional patient care, teamwork, and adheres to radiation standards and guidelines established by governing agencies to ensure optimal patient safety and customer service.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :
- Performs diagnostic radiology procedures to include but not limited to X-ray, MRI, CT, Mammography, Ultrasound, IR exams
- Proactively assesses, identifies and responds to the needs of the patient for adjustment or intervention to optimize patient care, image quality and patient experience which includes positioning, physiology, procedure preparation,
and technical factors
Modifies technical factors to achieve desired imaging results and recognizes complications and limitations associated with certain proceduresProvides direct assistance to physicians during diagnostic procedures, including assisting with sterile techniquePerforms, when applicable, what is required to meet the needs of patient care which may be one or more of the following : transporting, registration, admissions, answering phones, contacting physicians, taking and monitoring vital signs, EKGs, starting IVs, etcFollows safety standards and conducts all imaging procedures accordinglyUses ALARA (as low as reasonably achievable) to protect patients, staff and general public, and follows radiation safety standardsProperly utilizes patient radiation protection and immobilization during diagnostic proceduresMaintains proper sterile techniques for procedures, regularly practices aseptic techniques, and ensures compliance with radiation safety and infection control proceduresComplies with job role, department and hospital / facility safety standards, practices and policiesIdentifies opportunities for corrective action and process improvement providing recommendations and contributes to meeting department and hospital targets for quality and safetyReports “near misses” and inputs errors promptly into appropriate hospital patient safety reporting system to improve processes and identify trendsEnsures all imaging equipment has had quality control (QC) performed as required and is in safe working order prior to useReports any malfunctions to management and regularly practices preventative maintenance procedures; calls for service if neededAssists with implementation and education of department-based safety initiatives and standards of practiceProvides accurate and complete documentation of patient proceduresEnters charges at the time service is deliveredActively participates in special projects, department initiatives or shared governance activities and seeks opportunities to expand learning with a focus on continual developmentKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES :
