Townsen Memorial Hospital is looking for a Radiologic Technologist CT to join our team at our Humble, TX location!
The Radiologic Technologist CT is responsible for performing a wide variety of routine and advanced imaging procedures. The Technologist uses a variety of radiographic equipment, computers, and detectors.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :
- Sets up and operate radiographic equipment used in the medical diagnosis and / or treatment of patients
- Selects proper ionizing factors for radiologic diagnosis
- Positions patient and set up and adjust equipment to obtain the best quality x-ray of the specific body area requested by the physician
- Takes preventative steps to minimize radiation exposure to the patient and fellow staff
- Adjusts and sets radiographic controls, such as kilovoltage and milliamperage, to prescribed specifications for proper timing of exposure
- Regulates the length and intensity of film exposure
- Positions and restrains patients; and takes X-rays of patients’ chest, limbs, or other body parts as requested by the physicians
- Checks X-ray for clarity of image, and retakes X-rays when needed
- Protect patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols and following drug protocols in case of reactions to drugs, such as contrast media, administering first aid, and using the emergency cart.
- Maintain radiology supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies; placing and expediting orders for supplies; verifying receipt of supplies.
