Day Porter

Overview:

Township Building Services is a leading provider of cleaning and maintenance services for commercial properties. We are currently looking for Day Porter to maintain the lobby and common areas of our client's building. Your tasks will include mopping floors, wiping down windows, dusting fixtures, and emptying trash. You will also service the parking area and restrooms. During certain seasons, you may need to clear walkways leading up to the building. Our ideal candidate is someone who will take pride in keeping the building beautiful, clean, and comfortable for all visitors. Applicants should have some professional cleaning experience or be familiar with cleaning products and equipment.

This position will require the successful candidate to work 4 days a week (Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday), 8 hours a day, for a total of 32 hours a week.

Candidates must show proof of authorization to work in the United States and will be subject to a background check for purposes of employment.

Responsibilities:

• Removing trash and debris from front, sides, and rear of buildings, all exterior common areas and perimeter sidewalks, planters, curbs, parking lot, dumpster enclosures, entrances, landscape areas, and storefront areas, blowing off all sidewalks as well.
• Removing gum from sidewalks
• Cleaning any bird waste
• Checking the site for graffiti and removing it immediately, reporting any graffiti unable to remove.
• Report any suspicious or illegal activity on or around the property.
• Reporting all safety hazards and concerns that cannot be immediately remedied.
• Removing insect nests and webs, dust and wipe exterior siding, window ledges, light fixtures, soffit areas and trim of buildings, excluding windows.
• Dusting all canopy lights and reporting burnt out bulbs.
• Police all stairwells daily to remove trash.
• Pressure washing sidewalks on a daily basis so all sidewalks are pressure washed once per week.
• Sweeping and mopping all four stairwells on a daily basis so all are fully cleaned once per week.
• Ensuring grounds are safe during day, light salting and removal of snow in walk ways.
• Snow removal on call, as needed during evenings and/or weekends.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED certificate preferred
• At least 1 year of Janitorial or maintenance experience preferred
• Familiarity with common cleaning supplies and hand tools
• Physical stamina
• Ability to work outdoors
• Good communication and customer service skills
• Friendly demeanor
• Ability to work independently and follow instructions
• Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain cleanliness standards
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds
