SUMMARY :
District 113 School Counseling Interns are members of a highly professional and invested team of student service personnel. A District 113 Counseling Intern must demonstrate a keen awareness of and sensitivity to the issues facing young people and their families and understand implications for education of students with academic, social and / or emotional challenges. To be successful in this role, School Counseling Interns must be able to function as members of a team and work collaboratively with department colleagues, deans, faculty, and other support staff, as they develop working alliances with students and families.

EDUCATION and / or EXPERIENCE :

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES : Other duties may be assigned.
The District 113 Counseling Intern's responsibilities include, but are not limited to :
District and Building-Wide
- Participate in the building-wide intervention and teaming process;
- Link child-serving and community agencies to the school and families to support the student's academic, emotional, behavioral, and social success;
- Implement classroom-based programs and presentations;
- Support district initiatives
