Summary
To instruct and assist students in developing their subject matter and skills in both traditional and digital media, in order to give students experience with using industry-standard software such as Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and In-Design, as well as fundamental drawing and compositional skills, while at the same time encouraging and supporting their positive academic and social growth as students.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Supervises classroom, students, and teacher aides.
Qualification Requirements
The teacher must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
EDUCATION And/or EXPERIENCE
Minimum of a Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university. A background in or experience teaching Graphic Design. Familiar with Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop is helpful

- Valid Illinois Professional Educator License with appropriate endorsements
- License registered with Lake County ROE.
The District 113 Teacher's responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Meeting and instructing assigned classes in the locations and at the time assigned.
- Executing a curriculum utilizing a variety of instructional techniques and media, consistent with the needs and capabilities of the individuals or student groups involved.
- Creating a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students.
- Enforcing reasonable rules of classroom behavior and procedure and maintaining order in a fair and consistent manner while honoring the traditions and practices already in place.
- Guiding the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals, establishing clear objectives for all learning activities, and communicating these objectives to students.
- Assessing the accomplishments of students on a regular basis and providing progress reports as required.
- Working cooperatively with other school personnel in the identification, education, and remediation of individual students with specialized needs.
