Reports to:
Building Principal
Job Goal:
To assist with student supervision in the cafeteria, hallways, or nurse’s office, and other areas assigned by the principal. To assure the safety, security and health of all students.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Cafeteria
1. Organizes students into orderly lines for purchasing food and ensures that they are seated at
their assigned tables.
2. Helps students develop and observe proper dining habits, both in terms of etiquette and nutrition.
3. Assists younger students with the use of utensils, when needed.
4. Organizes students for orderly disposal of food waste, trays, and utensils.
5. Organizes groups for orderly dismissal from the lunch room.
6. Circulates among the tables during the meal period so as to be available to assist children who
may need help and to resolve any minor problems that arise.
7. Informs any attending teacher or the principal at once of any serious infraction of disciplinary
rules by students.
Other
1. Assists with student supervision, health and safety in the hallways, common areas, nurse’s office,
and any other areas of the school assigned by the principal.
2. Communicates in a professional, warm and friendly manner with students, community members,
colleagues, administrators, and all other employees.
3. Performs other duties as appropriate to the responsibilities of the position as assigned by the
principal.
