Tri-Community South (TCS) EMS is currently seeking Full Time Paramedics. Available Schedule is a non-rotating Two (16) hour and One (1) 8 hour Shift per week.

EMERGENCY MEDICAL TECHNICIAN-PARAMEDIC
- Possess a current certificate as an Emergency Medical Technician/Paramedic (EMT-P) in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
- Be at least twenty-one (21) years of age
- Possess and maintain a valid Pennsylvania Motor Vehicle Operators License
- Demonstrate the ability to lift with a partner of equal size a 175 lb. person and carry them up and down a flight of stairs
- Possess and maintain current CPR, ACLS, PALS certifications and child clearances.
BACKGROUND
The applicant must provide verification of the following:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum one year experience with Medical Command
- Current certification as an EMT-Paramedic in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
- EMSVO certified
- Required child clearances

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
- Abide by work schedules provided by the System.
- Learn and abide by personnel policies specific for Tri-Community South EMS.
- Learn and practice by the Standard Operating Procedures of Tri-Community South EMS.
- Wear the uniform and equipment provided during the scheduled tour of duty in all public appearances where the employee is representing Tri-Community South EMS.
- Institute emergency medical care when necessary according to the level of care indicated by the Department of Health of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
- Respond to all requests for an ambulance from dispatcher/dispatch center.
- Monitor all police/EMS radio communications during working shift assignment.
- Learn and operate all equipment stocked in every emergency vehicle/response unit belonging to Tri-Community South EMS.
- Ability to request assistance of additional emergency medical personnel, fire and police according to the Standard Operating Guidelines.
- Transport the ill and injured to an appropriate emergency medical facility according to the current State mandated guidelines and policies of the System.
- Communicate vital medical information pertinent to the patient to the receiving emergency medical facility using the appropriate communications.
- Complete all medical records with all necessary information.
- Complete all special report documents as specified in the Standard Operating Guidelines (i.e. crime scene reports, auto loss reports, on-job injury reports, equipment loss/damage reports, etc.).
- Replenish stock supplies used on each emergency call and fill out all paperwork completely. Stock and maintain vehicle according to the Standard Operating Guidelines.
- Check stock supplies and vehicle functioning each shift according to the vehicle check lists.
- Protect patients’ valuables and individual rights regarding confidentiality. Ensure HIPPA compliance for protected information. Properly document any personal/valuables that were transported in medical documentation.
- Participate in the continuing education program of the System.
- Supervise the activities of the basic life support personnel during the shift he/she is assigned to.
- Maintain all requirements of the Tri-Community South Medical Director to continue to function at the level of emergency medical technician/paramedic.
- Complete details assigned related to System operations.
- Participate in public relations and awareness activities.
- Complete responsibilities of committee and project assignments.
- Complete any detail vital to system operations.
- Accept the direction of the experienced Advance Life Support staff, Supervisor, Director and the Administrative Committee.
LINE OF AUTHORITY
It is the understanding that should any problems occur relating to the operations of Tri-Community South EMS policies and procedures and the employee needs counsel, he/she shall contact the Supervisor immediately, then the Director and then the Administrative Committee.
