Toyoda Gosei is looking for a talented and energetic Environmental, Health, and Safety Specialist for a contract role that could potentially go long term.
General Description:
- Must have a strong commitment to the management objectives and ability to interact well with others.
- Practice safe working techniques and re-enforce the safety policies, guidelines, and procedures as set out by the company.
- Generate required internal/external Environmental, Health and Safety reports.
- Participate in the investigation of incidents, near misses, property damage and environmental related incidents. Ensure follow-up is done to minimize future exposure.
- Manage and maintain accurate Environmental, Health and Safety records as required.
- Assist in the review of incident investigations, job hazard analysis, safety assessments and environmental impacts.
- Assist in the development of training; key performance indicators and other EHS required documentation.
- Assist to deliver EHS training as necessary.
- Conduct routine audits to ensure compliance with regulatory agencies, company environmental, health, and safety policies, procedures and practices.
- Assist in the oversight of the Workers Compensation Program.
- Responsible for day-to-day inventory, purchase order, through JDE.
- Involved in the development and management of the facility budgeting (expense and capital budget).
- Responsible for supporting travel arrangements and accommodations for department (i.e. flight and local hotel contacts).

Work Experience Requirements:
- 2-5 years professional environmental/safety experience
- Detail oriented with good analytical skills. Able to operate and problem solve to achieve goals.
- Preparation, analysis, reports, and identifies countermeasures to support objectives.
- Administrative knowledge to support required recordkeeping and development of documentation.
- Negotiations and ability to interact in a manufacturing environment.
- Must have a good safety record and be able to promote an environmental, health and safe work environment.
Knowledge/Position Requirements:
- Shift to be determined, but will either be 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM or 12:00 Noon to 9:00 PM
- Experience with safety and environmental regulations a must.
- Must have experience in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, etc.)
- Must have excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate in a team environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is highly preferred, but is not mandatory
- Able to develop and conduct training as necessary.
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Flexible to change and open to constructive feedback.
- Willing and able to work extended hours and Saturdays as necessary to support the business.
- Must be able to apply time management skills to accomplish set targets.
- Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds
Preferred Knowledge/Skills:
- Experience in Environmental and/or Health and Safety in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience working in a fast-paced, safety-first environment.
Education:
- Associates Degree (In a related field) or the equivalent in work experience.
