U.S. Citizenship Required. US Department of Defense Secret security clearance, with the ability to qualify for a Top Secret security clearance, required. Candidate must be SAP and SCI program eligible.
Toyon is seeking a computer aided design (CAD) specialist to maintain building and equipment drawings for government clients in the Washington DC area. The CAD Specialist will interact with Toyon’s engineering team and government clients to incorporate engineering and technical data into models using CAD tools. Duties include the gathering of existing drawings, conducting site surveys to confirm drawing accuracy, updating drawing sets for as-built conditions, and archiving products in a document management system. Assignments will involve a range of in-office work and local travel to government sites to gather input from various stakeholders for incorporation into record drawing sets.
Requirements
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in computer aided design, building information modeling (BIM) or a related degree, or certification as a Certified Drafter
- A minimum of two years of experience in a computer aided design related (CAD) position, preferably in an industrial, construction, or engineering environment
The ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience:
- Familiarity with architectural, mechanical, and electrical drawings for buildings
- Understanding of GIS concepts, map datums, and map projections as used for site planning, infrastructure and utilities mapping

The annual pay range for the Computer-aided Design (CAD) Specialist position is $65,000 to $95,000.
The posted pay range values provide the candidate with guidance on annual base compensation for the position, at a full time level of effort, exclusive of overtime, bonus, and benefits-related compensation, over a range of qualifications that may fit hiring objectives. Toyon Research Corporation will consider the individual candidate’s education, work experience, applicable knowledge, skills and training, among other factors, when preparing an offer of employment.
