Job Summary
This position oversees quality control operations during a designated shift, maintaining the overall plant quality system and daily job assignments. The role directs team members in assigned manufacturing areas, ensuring company goals and targets are met in accordance with all company policies, manufacturing standards, and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Function as a first-line leader over team members, monitoring staffing conditions, work hours, overtime, job rotation, and absenteeism.
- Develop and maintain positive team member relations centered on mutual trust, dignity, respect, fairness, consistency, two-way communication, teamwork, and harmony.
- Provide direction and motivation to team members emphasizing safety, quality, efficiency, productivity, cost reduction, and morale.
Leadership and Training
- Lead and maintain the assigned area, accomplishing departmental goals and keeping on task with targets and implementation schedules.
- Utilize Toyota Production System (TPS) techniques to standardize processes and methods, reduce variation, identify waste, and eliminate it methodically.
- Direct floor activities through consistent application of Toyota Boshoku Business Practices (TBBP), ensuring effective and correct sub-standard situations.
- Train and coach team members to maintain productivity and quality standards, emphasizing continuous improvement.
Safety and Quality
- Maintain a safe working environment for all team members, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements, and company safety policies and procedures.
- Lead, perform, and/or participate in ergonomic exercises, 5S housekeeping, accident investigation, and safety audits and related activities.
- Monitor safety and health of team members to ensure their well-being.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
- Associate's degree preferred; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum three years of relevant manufacturing experience required.
Work Environment/Conditions
The position requires working in various types of manufacturing environments, including office and plant settings. Standard automotive plant environment with moderate noise level, and PPE may be required.
