Job Description
Toyota Boshoku America is seeking an Occupational Health and Safety Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overall control of safety and health for all plant aspects, including OSHA and state-related safety compliance, team member health and wellness, and workers' compensation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate the planning, organizing, scheduling, and implementation of safety policies, programs, and procedures within the plant.
- Monitor site conditions, practices, and procedures for compliance with health and safety requirements.
- Select and implement corrective action and follow-up to ensure proper action has been taken.
- Assist management in appropriate loss control and accident prevention measures to comply with Toyota Boshoku and plant mission and objectives.
- Evaluate safety problems and team members' safety recommendations and complaints.
The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree in safety, environmental science, industrial hygiene, engineering, or a related field, and certification as an Occupational Safety and Health Technician (OSHTEC), Associate Safety Professional (ASP), Certified Safety Professional (CSP), or Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH). A minimum of 4 years diversified experience in safety, loss prevention, emergency response management, consulting, supervision, and administration in a manufacturing environment is required.
