JOB SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for audit and consolidation, coordination of quarterly and annual financial statements of group companies, quarterly analysis of consolidation activity, developing innovative solutions to enhance consolidation activity, other projects and general support to the accounting team. This position requires excellent and proactive communication with key financial positions within group companies and auditors.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
North America Consolidation
- Coordinate cross company audits with group companies, external audit teams, external tax teams
- Prepare annual consolidation schedule
- Complete Prepare By Client (PBC) requirements
- Generate consolidation workpapers
- Prepare consolidated financial statement footnotes
- Load and analyze financial inputs
- Perform reconciliations of data
- Respond timely to auditor inquiries
- Train new group companies on required reporting
- Implement reporting requirements for new GAAP standards
- Serve as subject matter expert on consolidation activity
- Coordinate and attend auditor visits to dealers
- Prepare / analyze potential impairment issues
- Maintain positive relationship with external auditors
- Create and manage consolidation documentation of process and procedures
System
- Train group companies and new associates in Cognos
- Evaluate opportunities for enhanced utilization of Cognos tool
- Update Cognos for new GAAP requirements for consolidation
- Generate reports for footnote efficiency
- Enhance Cognos upload capabilities and features
Other
- Participate in consolidation discussion at finance meeting
- Perform other projects as assigned
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting
- 5 – 7 years experience in consolidation activity
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Working knowledge of SAP and Cognos
- Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and procedures (GAAP) and IFRS
- CPA preferred
- Key competencies include: planning and organizing, attention to detail, problem-solving, teamwork, written and verbal communication skills, and a customer service orientation
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this position, the employee is frequently required to sit, stand, and communicate verbally and in writing. Duties involve moving materials weighing up to 5 pounds on a regular basis. Manual dexterity and coordination are required to operate standard office equipment such as computer keyboard, calculator, and printer. Work will be performed in an open office environment with cubicles.
Travel expectation up to 15%.
Salary : $88,000 - $98,000
