Job Description
- Monitoring state of information security in the organization.
- Assistance in Security Operations and upkeeping general health of digital assets.
- Support the information security team in responding to security incidents and breaches.
- Assist in performing risk assessments and helping to develop mitigation strategies for identified risks
- Support the information security team in maintaining documentation.
- Research and stay informed about the latest security threats, trends, and vulnerabilities in the cybersecurity landscape.
- Completing other duties as assigned.
Competencies/Skills required
- Knowledge of security frameworks, standards, and regulations (e.g., NIST Cybersecurity framework, ISO 27001, etc).
- Communication proficiency (both verbal and written) for team collaboration
- Basic coding skills in Python, Javascript
- Basic knowledge with databases, such as SQL, noSQL
- Good understanding of computer networks, TCP stack, VPNs, Operating Systems, Encryption, Firewall, Threat detection, Authentication, Authorization, etc.
- Good understanding of Cloud Computing, such as Azure, AWS, etc.
Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment (i.e., onsite work arrangement). Office snacks and beverages are provided.
About your manager
This role will report directly to the Information Security Engineer. Your manager brings a wealth of experience in Cybersecurity.
Position Type/ Expected Hours of Work/Compensation
This is a full-time position for the months of May - August. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, working eight (8) hours per day. The hourly rate is $22/hour.
