About the Role
We are looking for a seasoned Embedded Software Test Engineering Supervisor with a proven track record in leading high-performing teams within the embedded systems domain. This role is tailor-made for a candidate with over 10 years of hands-on experience in test automation and embedded software testing, particularly within telematics or similarly complex systems. Your expertise will be critical in shaping our automated testing strategy and ensuring our telematics software meets the highest standards of quality and robustness.
This role is an onsite position, with flexibility to exercise a hybrid arrangement based on workload and project requirements. This role supervises a team spread across both onsite and remote locations, so strong communication and collaboration skills are essential.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Strategic Leadership:
- Define and communicate a clear technical vision for the Automated Software Testing team.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive automation testing roadmap in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
- Lead daily scrum sessions, closely monitor sprint progress, and celebrate team achievements.
- Team Management & Collaboration:
- Mentor and manage a diverse team of Automated Test Engineers, emphasizing continuous learning and improvement.
- Build strong partnerships with development and product teams to seamlessly integrate and enhance automation solutions.
- Hands-On Technical Contributions:
- Actively participate in the design, development, and troubleshooting of automation scripts and frameworks.
- Employ advanced analytical techniques, including risk-based testing and structured test design, to create robust test plans.
What We're Looking For:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer or Software Engineering, Engineering, or a related STEM related field.
- Minimum of 10 years' experience in software development and/or testing with a clear focus on test automation in embedded applications.
- Demonstrated expertise in telematics or complex embedded systems.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C, or C .
- Deep understanding of modern automated testing strategies and proven experience implementing DevOps practices (CI/CD, automation, infrastructure management).
- Proven success in managing teams in remote and local work environments. The team this role will support is located across the globe.
- Expertise in Agile methodologies and CI/CD environments using tools like Azure DevOps, Git, Jira, and Jenkins.
- Proficient in Python with hands-on experience using frameworks such as PyTest; experience with additional test automation tools is a plus.
- A results-driven mindset with a passion for innovation, problem solving, and a willingness to engage directly in technical challenges.
