Job Description:
Responsible for overseeing dock and door projects and service calls, ensuring timely and successful completion of work while maintaining high standards of quality and customer satisfaction. The Project Manager will also lead and coordinate a team of skilled technicians to deliver exceptional service to our clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Management
- Plan, execute, and complete commercial dock and door work.
- Coordinate with clients, contractors, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure smooth workflow and timely completion of work while managing service calls.
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations.
- Team Management and Leadership
- Lead and supervise a team of technicians, ensuring high levels of productivity, safety, and quality.
- Provide training, guidance, and support to the technician team, ensuring they are well-equipped to perform their tasks.
- Schedule and assign jobs to technicians, ensuring an effective billing rate.
- Conduct yearly performance evaluations and provide timely feedback to ensure continuous improvement and professional growth.
- Foster a positive, collaborative team environment to enhance employee morale and reduce turnover.
- Customer Relationship Management
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, addressing inquiries, providing updates, and resolving issues in a timely manner.
- Work with clients to assess needs, provide solutions, and ensure satisfaction throughout the customer experience.
- Maintain ongoing communication with clients to ensure continued satisfaction and identify potential for future business opportunities.
- Financial Responsibility
- Generate revenue by building a strong client base and expanding service offerings with current customers while seeking additional clients.
- Assist in revenue forecasting for upcoming work.
- Analyze trends and make applicable adjustments to ensure profitable growth.
- Safety and Compliance
- Ensure that work complies with industry safety standards, and company safety protocols are followed.
- Investigate and report any safety incidents or accidents and work to prevent recurrence.
Qualifications:
- Experience & Education:
- College degree preferred, high school diploma or equivalency required.
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in project management, specifically within the commercial dock and door industry, or a related field.
- Proven experience managing technician teams.
- Experience with managing budgets, quoting work, and building a client base.
- Skills and Abilities:
- Strong organizational, time-management, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent leadership and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to read and interpret, technical drawings, and project specifications.
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations and workplace safety practices.
