What We Are Looking For:
The Design Engineer designs mechanical and electromechanical products and systems by developing and testing specifications and methods. In this role you would perform engineering duties in planning and designing tools, engines, machines, and other mechanically functioning equipment or products. Oversees installation, operation, maintenance, and repair of such equipment. We are looking for the following qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology
- Strong technical experience with troubleshoot capability
- Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Experience with 3D modeling software (Creo experience preferred)
- Ability to work in a constant state of alertness in a safe manner
- Ability to pass pre-employment background checks and drug screening
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Design, model, and test prototypes for products
- Conduct research and create design proposals for projects
- Establish design briefs
- Create concept, performance, and production criteria
- Identify and select materials needed for production
- Create parts lists
- Produce final CAD generated drawings and specifications
- List costs involved in production
- Make samples of working models for demonstration
- Assist with planning marketing initiative for product
- Assist with negotiating appropriate production processes
- Travel to production facilities to evaluate processes
- Improve safety, reliability, and usability of items
- Use computer-aided design (CAD) for conceptual design work, proficient with Creo
- Follows good housekeeping and enforces GMPs
- Performs other, related duties as assigned. These are duties may not be specifically listed in this description, but which are within the general nature typically associated with the employee’s level of work.
