Position Summary :
The Manufacturing Manager is primarily responsible for overseeing both the tactical and strategic aspects for multiple Operations Manufacturing departments. This role oversees and directs the day-to-day activities to achieve Safety, Quality and Productivity targets. Utilizing Toyota's Core Values and Leadership Model, this role will lead teams to implement and maintain Toyota Production System processes that include kaizen, 5S and change point management while providing guidance, development and leadership to the department leaders and Associates. This role must engage and build relationships with the other Manufacturing Managers and peer Department Managers to ensure smooth interactions while discussing daily tactical issues or developing long term strategy. In addition, the Manager role will be leaned on as a mentor, project leader and essential to the strategic planning process.
Essential Position Duties :
- Direct the activities of department leaders to achieve Safety, Quality and Productivity targets
- Mentor, grow, and empower your team by giving them the skills, confidence, and motivation to make decisions independently that lead to their personal and professional success, and enable them to become leaders
- Take an active role in driving and evolving the strategic roadmap for Manufacturing operations creating long-term plans by analyzing data, identifying opportunities, and developing strategies to help the organization achieve its goals
- Drive the objectives associated with problem resolution, such as communication, go-and-see and Root Cause Analysis (5 why) reports
- Support development of internal SOPs, processes, documentation, and training to ensure that team members have the needed skills and tools to support the production environments and deliver on project commitments
- Develop and manage department budgets including labor, sub-materials and capital as required
- Responsible for planning, organizing, and overseeing the execution of projects, ensuring it is completed on time, within budget, and according to the defined scope, by leading a team, managing resources, monitoring progress, mitigating risks, and communicating effectively with stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle
- Create a positive work environment while supporting their team to hold themselves accountable
- Be a mentor to other Managers by sharing knowledge, provide guidance, support, and advice
- Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner
- Additional duties as assigned
