Your team and your responsibilities
The Technical Affairs & Planning division (TAP) is part of the Research and Development group at Toyota Motor Europe Technical Centre in Zaventem, Belgium. The Safety Research & Technical Affairs team of TAP is in charge of:
- Collaborating with research partners to coordinate projects on Safety including Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) and Automated Driving (AD), Passive and Active Safety
- Real world effectiveness evaluation of Safety technology
- Predicting and contributing to future Safety requirements and test methods
- Ensuring that Toyota can meet future Safety requirement by keeping designers and product planners informed
Creation of a process and tool to assist researchers during the volunteer selection process. In collaboration with UX Team & Data Team.
Your project consists of:
- Conducting a literature review on the population representativeness gap in active safety research.
- Developing processes and new tools to enhance data diversity.
- Testing and validating the new tools within the R&D framework.
Your Profile
- You are fluent in English (TME’s business language)
- You are proficient in data analysis
- Passionate about R&D design processes and continuous improvement
- Experienced in human factor studies
- You have knowledge in software development

Due to business requirement, not all performed projects can be reflected in the internship report. This issue needs to be discussed with candidate/school in advance.
It is mandatory that applicants are students for the entire period of the internship.
We can only accept students with an EEA or Swiss citizenship (not requiring a work permit or visa to be eligible to perform an internship in Belgium)
