What are the responsibilities and job description for the Toyota Pasadena Line Technician position at Toyota of Pasadena?
We are looking for top qualified Toyota Service Technicians with ASE Certifications for a large volume, fast paced; family owned and operated state of the art Toyota dealership.
As a Technician you will be responsible for performing vehicle repair and maintenance work as assigned in accordance with dealer and factory standards.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Maintain their 90-day average productivity at 80% or above.
- Toyota UOT e-module Training, Toyota Classroom Training and ASE Certification to be maintained at the highest levels. This will directly determine Flat Rate Hourly compensation.
- Keep abreast of manufacturer technical service bulletins.
- Maintain cleanliness of assigned bays, work areas, floors, lifts, toolboxes, benchtops, storage areas to include hazardous waste temporary daily containment must be transferred to proper containment vessels before leaving at end of shift.
- Road test vehicle when required or refer to the test technician.
- Utilize specified test route when possible, obey all traffic laws, do not to exceed speed limits, driver’s license and repair order in possession.
- Perform work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and factory standards.
- Diagnose the cause of any malfunction and perform approved repairs, within skill level.
- Perform vehicle inspections, mandatory battery testing, complete report card with pictures & videos for all recommendations, include creating accurate estimate with-in Reynolds Advance Service, advise Shop Foreman of any SPG flag time errors or report card changes.
- Accurately document all work performed, run time stamp, flag time, complete CCR = condition, cause, remedy, mileage out in Reynolds Advance Service for all customer pay, warranty and internal line items.
- Communicate with service advisor immediately if additional work is needed, if work outlined is not needed or if repairs cannot be completed within the promise time.
- Ensure that customers vehicles are kept clean. Notifies service advisor immediately of anything that has happened to change the appearance or condition of the vehicle.
- Communicate with parts department to obtain needed parts.
- Save, tag and return parts under warranty. Return parts to customer if requested.
- Dispose of removed parts, fluids and all waste streams in accordance with company, local, state, federal, environmental, safety regulations / standards.
- Understands, keeps abreast of and complies with company, local, state, federal, environmental, safety regulations / standards, such as hazardous waste disposal, OSHA Right-to-Know, etc.
- Report any and all safety issues immediately to management.
- Report any and all injuries immediately to management.
- Supervise work of any apprentice technicians as assigned.

The Technician Position has a Pay Scale consisting of the following elements and ranges. Wages include Base Hourly Compensation of $33.00. The position may also pay a production bonus based on individual performance that may range from $0.00 (if baseline benchmarks are not met) without any fixed upper limit.
