TRD is looking for a highly motivated Driver-In-Loop Simulator Engineer (Contract) for our Vehicle Simulation Department.
This position will be in Salisbury, NC.
As a Driver-In-Loop simulator technician, you will be a key member of TRD's state of the art DIL simulator team which has been serving our customers and race teams for several years with tremendous success. This position will be responsible for providing world class customer-oriented operation of DIL simulator, conducting comprehensive simulations, and performing systems troubleshooting and maintenance.
Responsibilities :
Operate state of the art Driver in the Loop Simulators, a complex system with many unique software and hardware systems.
Work closely with TRD engineers and race team customers during simulator test sessions.
Help deliver a positive experience for each customer.
Work with engineers and technicians to help maintain and service the Simulator platform and systems.
Experience with rapid troubleshooting and issue resolution.
Create and maintain thorough documentation of simulator operations, system updates, and test session results.
Required skills :
Bachelors degree in engineering or equivalent extensive experience in the field of rig operations
Familiarity with A / V systems and software applications, with the ability to quickly learn complex workflows.
Competent with computer system assembly, troubleshooting, and networking.
Good analytical capability and attention to detail.
Understanding of motorsports vehicle dynamics and systems.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Able to work on your own initiative, self-motivated and results-driven mindset.
Mechanically inclined with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment.
Flexibility to work different hours according to shift allocation across a 6am to 6pm day.
Preferred skills :
5 years professional motorsports experience and trackside involvement is a bonus.
DIL simulator testing, development, and operations
Familiarity with software tools like rFpro, McLaren System Monitor, MATLAB / Simulink.
Proficiency in data analysis tools such as Motec i2, ATLAS, and Pi Toolbox.
Simulator driving experience would be a bonus
