The Role
Our Senior Compensation Analyst will be responsible for supporting the design and administration of all compensation programs at TRI. This will include conducting market analysis and using market data to make recommendations that will support pay structure design. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate with HR, finance, and leadership teams to ensure employees are compensated fairly and competitively. Additionally, the role requires familiarity with benefits programs to support a holistic total rewards strategy.
\n- Assist in designing and implementing compensation structures, including salary bands, job grading, and incentive plans.
- Conduct market research and benchmarking to ensure competitive and equitable pay.
- Support annual salary reviews, merit increases, and bonus administration.
- Partner with HR and finance teams to analyze pay equity and internal compensation alignment.
- Maintain accurate job descriptions and assist in job evaluations and classification.
- Develop compensation-related policies and best practices.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws related to compensation, including FLSA, pay transparency laws, and equal pay regulations.
- Assist with internal audits and regulatory reporting requirements.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of pay equity trends, pay transparency laws, and industry compensation best practices.
- Support the total rewards team by providing compensation insights, analyses, and recommendations that complement benefits offerings such as health, wellness, and retirement programs.
- Assist in employee education regarding compensation philosophy, pay structures, and total rewards programs.
- Maintain accurate compensation data within HRIS and payroll systems.
- Generate reports and insights on compensation trends, pay equity, and cost analysis.
- Ensure data integrity and provide analytical support for budgeting and compensation planning.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, or related field.
- 5 years of experience in compensation analysis, salary administration, or HR analytics.
- Strong knowledge of HRIS systems, payroll, and compensation administration tools.
- Familiarity with compensation frameworks, salary benchmarking tools (e.g., Mercer, Radford, Payscale), and job evaluation methods.
- Understanding of employment laws related to compensation (FLSA, pay transparency, equal pay laws, etc.).
- Proficiency in Google Sheets, Excel (pivot tables, v-lookups) and HR analytics.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills.
- Experience in the technology industry with knowledge of tech-specific compensation structures, including equity, RSUs, and remote workforce considerations.
- Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) or SHRM-CP/PHR certification.
- Experience in total rewards strategy development.
- Knowledge of equity compensation (stock options, RSUs, ESPP plans).
- Experience with global compensation programs.
The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $138,880 and $208,320/year for California-based roles; however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Note that TRI offers a generous benefits package (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave) and an annual cash bonus structure.
