We are seeking a skilled JIRA Subject Matter Expert (SME) / Administrator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in configuring, maintaining, and supporting JIRA, as well as a deep understanding of Jira Automations and Agile methodologies. As a JIRA SME/Administrator, you will be responsible for managing and customizing JIRA workflows, schemes, custom fields, and plugins to meet the needs of various teams within the organization. You will also play a key role in providing technical support and guidance to users, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring optimal performance and reliability of the JIRA platform. Strong knowledge of Jira Automation is a must to have skill which you will be using to integrate various Jira Boards, Movement of Tasks, Auto-creation of tasks, etc. As a secondary skill, resource should have knowledge on JAMA – Requirement Management Tool and mainly on JAMA Project setup & configuration, relationships between requirements, traceability, and review center.
Responsibilities:
- Configure and customize JIRA workflows, issue types, screens, fields, and permissions schemes based on best practices and project requirements.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for JIRA-related inquiries and provide technical support and guidance to users.
- Manage user permissions for JIRA projects and ensure data security and integrity.
- Perform JIRA installations, upgrades, and migrations as needed.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand their workflows and requirements and implement solutions in JIRA.
- Creating automation solutions to streamline workflows, enhance data handling and integrating multiple Jira Boards.
- Work with teams on Jira Automation Requests following the best standards. Monitoring and issue fixing of scheduled automations.
- Integrate Jira with other tools and systems, such as Confluence.
- Create and maintain custom dashboards, filters, and reports in JIRA to track metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Train users on JIRA functionalities and best practices.
- Stay updated on the latest JIRA features, plugins, and industry trends to recommend improvements and enhancements.
- Document JIRA configurations, processes, and procedures.
- Manage on JAMA Requirement management tool to organize PCG Global repository of requirements.
- Projects creation and maintenance in JAMA Tool.
- Support new enhancements/configurations with JAMA Process Flows.
- Support integration of JAMA with Jira Tool.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Proven experience as a JIRA Administrator or similar role, with at least [X] years of hands-on experience in configuring and supporting JIRA.
- In-depth knowledge of JIRA workflows, permission schemes, custom fields, issue types, and other administrative tasks.
- Strong understanding of Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) and their implementation in JIRA.
- Experience with JIRA plugins and add-ons (e.g., JIRA Service Desk, Portfolio for JIRA).
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- JIRA certification (e.g., Atlassian Certified JIRA Administrator) is a plus.
- Familiarity with other Atlassian tools such as Confluence, Bitbucket, or Bamboo is desirable.
- Knowledge on JAMA features, configurations, traceability and review center.
- Knowledge on JAMA – Jira integration using JAMA JCI Tool
- Knowledge on JAMA APIs and how to use them in integration with other systems.
