Job Summary
Reporting to the Toyotetsu North America Assistant General Manager of Accounting, the Accounting Assistant Manager oversees key financial processes across four North American locations. Responsibilities include managing month-end closing, preparing financial statements, overseeing balance sheet reconciliations, and improving financial systems. This role also supervises accounting staff handling accounts payable, receivables, costing, and fixed assets while ensuring compliance, segregation of duties, and audit readiness. Additionally, the position supports budgeting, maintains the General Ledger, and collaborates with all locations to uphold financial standards.
Position Responsibilities
Responsibilities of this position included, but are not limited to the following:

Manage month end close process including journal entry preparation.

Prepare monthly consolidated financial statements and supporting analysis.

Develop and execute administrative and financial systems process improvements.

Assist in the budget process including budgeted financial statements.

Manage and prepare balance sheet reconciliations.

Manage accounting staff responsible for accounts payable, accounts receivable, costing and fixed assets.

Support departmental activities to achieve segregation of duties, including being back up for most areas.

Maintain General Ledger and user defined statements.

Assist in the preparation of external audit materials and external financial reporting.
Qualifications
Preferred Experience & Skills

Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field

Advanced Excel skills and experience with Microsoft Office products

Automotive industry experience

Strong analytical skills and attention to detail

Excellent problem-solving skills

Understanding of ASC 842/IFRS 16, ASC 606/IFS 15, ASC 825

Understanding of Section 172 tax credit
