Our ideal candidate has experience with NJDOT Specifications for Roadway and Bridge Construction. Candidates also have experience on highway and bridge projects throughout NJ with agencies such as NJDOT, NJTA, SJTA, DRPA, DRJTBC, and/or experience with Local County and State agencies.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- B.S. in Civil Engineering or Construction Management (or related field) preferred,
- Minimum of 4 years construction/project management experience
Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Serves as a construction manager for a project and as a designated client contact.
- Demonstrates knowledge of construction concepts, practices, and procedures.
- Reviews, prepares, or modifies construction schedules.
- Facilitates project and client meetings.
- Organizes the review of shop drawings, submittals and requests for information with engineering personnel and prepares responses based on the reviews.
- Handles routine construction contract administration.
- Analyzes field data, reports, maps, drawings, plans, tests, and shop drawings to facilitate project control.
- Visits construction site to monitor progress and other duties per the contract documents.
- May Inspect construction projects as required.
Job Requirements:
- EIT or NICET Level II in Highway Construction in Highway Construction (required)
- Valid Driver's License (required)
- Able to work overtime, some nights, or weekends as needed (required)
- Ability to drive to and from, on, or around a project site during all times of the day (required)
- Strong organization and communication skills (required)
- Experience with federal aid projects and paperwork is a plus.
- Experience with bridge construction is a plus.
- Experience with NJTA Capex or NJDOT Site Manager is a plus.
