TPF Nursing is seeking qualified Women's Health Nurse Practitioner for a role as a Gynecology NP Clinical Educator.
Location: Stony Brook University, Student Health Services
Job description:
- Training & Oversight: Educates healthcare providers on pelvic exams and gynecological procedures, ensuring adherence to evidence-based care (no obstetrics).
- Clinical Leadership: Provides hands-on instruction, competency assessments, and mentorship to standardize best practices across Student Health Services.
- Quality Improvement: Collaborates with leadership to enhance provider resources, implement quality initiatives, and support integrated patient care.
- Expert Guidance: Evaluates provider technique, offers direct feedback, and ensures high standards of gynecological care.
- Additional Responsibilities: Engages in health education, community outreach, and university wellness initiatives; proficiency in EMR systems and NYS electronic prescribing required.
Schedule:
- Monday through Friday, 5x8 hours shifts per week (40 hours per week)
- Hours are flexible
- 13 week contract (with possible extension)
Required Qualifications:
- Master’s or Doctorate in Nursing (MSN/DNP) from an accredited institution.
- Board certification as a Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner (WHNP-BC)
- Extensive experience performing and training others in gynecological procedures, including pelvic exams, gynecological screenings, and evidence-based care practices.
- Training and experience in performing pelvic exams, Pap smears, and STI screening/treatment.
- Experience with preventive care, contraception counseling, and reproductive health services.
- Strong background in clinical education, mentorship, and procedural training.
- Experience in clinical supervision and provider training.
- Experience working in a university health setting, outpatient gynecology practice, or a clinical training environment.
Duties:
Clinical Training & Education (60%)
- Train providers in pelvic exams and gynecological procedures through hands-on instruction and competency assessments.
- Develop and implement standardized training programs to ensure adherence to evidence-based guidelines.
Clinical Oversight & Expertise (15%)
- Shadow providers, evaluate techniques, and provide direct feedback to improve procedural skills.
- Serve as the go-to expert for gynecological procedural training and support across Student Health Services.
Quality Assurance & Best Practices (15%)
- Standardize clinical practices to align with the latest gynecological care guidelines.
- Collaborate with leadership on quality improvement initiatives and develop provider resources.
Professional Development & Institutional Involvement (10%)
- Participate in training programs, committees, and professional development opportunities.
- Support university health initiatives, patient education, and student wellness programs.
Compensation:
Hourly Rate: $87.00 per hour
Weekly gross (based on 40 hours): $3480.00
Workers >50 miles from job location entitled to travel stipend.
