What You’ll Be Doing
Physical work is a primary part of many of our hotel and resort jobs. Physical requirements include extended standing and walking, climbing, bending, reaching, pulling, pushing, kneeling, and lifting to 50lbs. Some work is performed in an interior hotel environment with equipment and machines. The work involves exposure to extreme temperatures, chemicals, dirt, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises. The exposure to hazards or physical risks requires following basic safety precautions and use of applicable protective equipment.

What You’ll Be Doing
- Set-up and Preparation:
- Arrange tables, chairs, linens, and other event equipment according to the event plan.
- Ensure that the banquet area is clean, organized, and visually appealing before guests arrive.
- Confirm menu details, room layouts, and special requests with the event manager.
- Guest Service:
- Greet and assist guests in a friendly and professional manner.
- Provide information about menu items, allergies, and special dietary requirements.
- Ensure guests' needs are met and promptly address any concerns.
- Table Maintenance:
- Monitor and maintain the cleanliness and appearance of tables throughout the event.
- Clear empty plates, glassware, and utensils promptly to ensure a tidy dining environment.
- Set up and replenish buffet stations if applicable.
- Collaboration:
- Coordinate with the kitchen staff to ensure timely and accurate delivery of food items.
- Communicate effectively with other banquet servers to maintain smooth service.
- Work closely with event coordinators to address any last-minute changes or requests.
- Professionalism:
- Adhere to grooming and uniform standards.
- Maintain a positive and professional attitude at all times.
- Handle guest requests and complaints with courtesy and efficiency.
- Safety and Compliance:
- Follow health and safety regulations, including proper food handling and sanitation practices.
- Adhere to alcohol service policies and ensure responsible serving practices.
- Report any safety hazards or issues to the appropriate personnel.
- Post-Event Clean-up:
- Assist in breaking down event setups and returning the venue to its original condition.
- Clean and store equipment properly after use.
- Complete any required paperwork or checklists related to the event.
- Previous experience in banquet service or a similar role is preferred.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and remain calm under pressure.
- Knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
