Position Overview: The Launch Operator, or Launch Captain, is the front line of customer service. They are usually the first interaction a boater has with the marina and must make a positive first impression. The Launch Operator is a responsible individual who can be accountable on their own, while presenting a positive interaction with the customer.
Responsibilities
- Operate and navigate inspected vessels in variable weather conditions
- Ensure safety of passengers on board while bringing them to and from their vessels
- Be mindful of launch vessel mechanical systems and equipment
- Perform daily routine maintenance checks
- Provide excellent customer service
- Help load/unload customers luggage
- Follow all safety protocols and regulations
- Any other duties as assigned by TPG Marinas and the direct Manager.

Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Valid USCG Captains license or launch operator's license (Limited Masters License)
- Sailing knowledge, familiarity with boats and nomenclature preferred
- Strong boat-handling experience
- Must be able to swim
- Previous experience preferred, willing to train.
- Ability to work on-site at Conanicut Marina, Taylor Point and Dutch Harbor, located in Jamestown, RI.
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 70 lbs regularly and 100 lbs on occasion with team assist or lifting tools. Able to stand for extended periods and occasionally kneel, stoop, bend and twist in tight areas. Comfortability with ladders and confined spaces is required. Ability to work in the elements regularly.
- All candidates must be ready, willing, and able to work a fully flexible work schedule that may include days, nights, weekends and holidays to meet the fluctuating business demands.
