What are the responsibilities and job description for the Marina Parts Manager position at TPG Marinas?
The Marina Parts Manager is responsible for managing parts inventory, ensuring parts or supplies needed are available, as well as anticipating the needs of the staff. The Marina Parts Manager is also responsible for invoices, maintaining positive vendor relationships, and assisting customers with their immediate needs. The Marina Parts Manager reports to the Service Manager
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide support to Service Manager, Service Team, and customers
- Order, return, receive, and dispatch parts to appropriate department
- Monitor purchasing trends
- Source new suppliers that are cost efficient and high quality
- Manage inventory levels
- Encourage sales and act as liaison with customers where appropriate
- Assign parts and purchases to the appropriate vessels/tickets
- Continuously meets ongoing company goals
- Available to work overtime when required
- Other duties as assigned by Manager
Safety and Environmental Responsibilities
- Follow Safety and Environmental rules and complete required related training.
- Wear proper personal protective equipment as required for the task or work area.
- Report all accidents, injuries, spills and near misses immediately.
Technical and Physical Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Prior marina experience preferred
- Previous management experience preferred
- Basic knowledge of marine systems preferred
- ABYC and/or engine manufacturer certification a plus
- Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time
- Ability to lift 50 pounds
