Job Description Job Title : Materials Test Engineer Reports to : Manager, Global Materials Laboratory Location : Santa Theresa, NM – on-site role (no remote work) Position Overview :
- Perform mechanical testing per recognized standards (ASTM & ISO), customer specifications, and project-based requirements.
- Operate and maintain hydraulic test frames (MTS), DSC, DMA, rheometers, FTIR, ovens, microscopes, and other lab equipment.
- Analyze data, interpret results, and compile comprehensive test reports.
- Support composite panel fabrication using vacuum infusion, RTM, hand layup, and other manufacturing methods.
- Measure and evaluate specimen dimensions for conformance with applicable standards and methods.
- Drive continuous improvement by collaborating with lab personnel to enhance capabilities and streamline test procedures.
- Develop and update work instructions to align with current practices.
- Ensure compliance with the TPI Physical Sciences Laboratory’s ISO 17025 Quality Management System.
- Assist with inventory management.
- Maintain a safe and organized working environment.
- This is a full-time onsite role.
