Job Description:
CMS Energy is seeking an experienced Instructional Designer I to join our team for a contract position. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing and developing various learning experiences, including interactive eLearn modules, large-scale training solutions, and blended multimedia instructor-led presentations. The role requires close collaboration with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) across different business units to ensure the training content is aligned with industry best practices, while meeting regulatory and legal standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop engaging learning experiences in diverse formats (eLearn, instructor-led, blended) that align with the company’s training needs.
- Collaborate with SMEs to create content that meets both business requirements and training best practices.
- Translate complex multi-step processes into easy-to-understand training content.
- Manage multiple projects concurrently, meeting tight deadlines and adapting to evolving business needs.
- Develop storyboards and manage production schedules to ensure timely project delivery.
- Utilize instructional design methodologies and principles of adult learning pedagogy to ensure high engagement and retention.
- Design visually appealing training materials that meet high standards of quality and creativity.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- 1-2 years of experience in instructional design, eLearning development, or a related field.
- Proven proficiency in eLearning authoring tools, including Articulate Storyline (preferred), Adobe Captivate, and Adobe Creative Cloud (Illustrator, Photoshop).
- Strong proficiency in MS Office Suite (PowerPoint, Excel).
- Experience in developing interactive asynchronous eLearning and synchronous in-person scenario-based training solutions.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to lead multiple projects simultaneously while adhering to deadlines.
- A solid portfolio that demonstrates attention to detail, effective use of instructional design principles, and adult learning pedagogy.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 2-4 years of experience in instructional design and project management.
- Experience in designing and developing corporate learning solutions.
- Formal education may be substituted with relevant experience.
