Litigation Paralegal
Pay: $36.06 - $40.86
Duration: through June 2025 (10 months)
In-office requirements: 2 days a week in the office but for training the first 2-3 weeks it will be more
Location: Atlanta, GA
Position overview:
Independently manage warranty and lemon law litigation matters and assist with pre-litigation matters as needed. Evaluate and determine settlement potential. Research, analyze and evaluate evidence for lawsuits, interact with third parties, negotiate settlements with opposing counsel and participate in dispute resolution.
Roles & responsibilities:
- Manage Pre-Litigation and Litigation Matters: Handle attorney demands, and warranty lawsuits start to finish with outside counsel Including opening new cases, managing discovery with counsel, create settlement strategies
- Negotiate settlements directly with opposing counsel
- Direct and collaborate with outside counsel in the preparation of the defense in litigation
- Evaluate litigation cases to determine proper settlement decisions based on state lemon law
- Analyze and approve outside counsel’s billing invoices
- Represent litigation matters, including, in court, arbitration, mediation, depositions and trials
- Manage and collaborate processes with Customer Relations and external partners to expedite pre-litigation and litigation evaluations
- Manage subrogation and arbitration warranty matters
- Negotiate settlements with insurance companies on subrogation claims
- Manage all inquiries from state agencies overseeing arbitration regulations and consumer protection laws
- Evaluate arbitration claims to determine proper settlement decisions based on state lemon law.
- Represent in arbitration hearings where a customer is represented by counsel
Qualifications:
Education:
- Four-year degree and paralegal certification from ABA approved program.
- Experience:
- 8-10 years litigation experience, automotive industry a plus.
Skills:
- Substantive legal knowledge and understanding of warranty and lemon laws
- Proficient in legal research.
- Effective in establishing initiatives and promoting interaction and positive teamwork throughout the company
Salary : $36 - $41
