Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Data Conversion Specialist to manage and execute data conversion projects, ensuring the accurate and efficient migration of data from legacy systems to new systems. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in Oracle CCB (Customer Care and Billing), M&A (Mergers and Acquisitions), and utility industry experience. The role requires a strong leadership mindset to manage conversion approaches while possessing the technical skills necessary to resolve complex issues during the conversion process.
Must-Have Qualifications:
- Oracle CCB Experience (Critical for role)
- M&A (Mergers and Acquisitions) Experience
- Utility Industry Background, particularly in Customer Experience management
- Strong ability to lead data conversion projects while troubleshooting technical challenges
- Demonstrated expertise in data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to manage stakeholder expectations and work in a collaborative team environment
Key Responsibilities:
Data Analysis and Mapping:
- Analyze data structures, relationships, and dependencies within legacy systems.
- Develop comprehensive data mapping documents that define how data will be transformed and migrated to the target system.
- Collaborate with business analysts, stakeholders, and IT teams to understand and ensure that data requirements are met.
Data Extraction and Transformation:
- Extract data from legacy systems using appropriate tools and technologies.
- Develop and implement data transformation scripts to cleanse, normalize, and prepare data for migration.
- Ensure data is correctly formatted and meets the requirements of the target system.
Data Loading and Migration:
- Load transformed data into the target system using established data migration tools and techniques.
- Conduct thorough verification and validation of data to ensure its accuracy and completeness.
- Address and resolve any data migration issues and perform necessary corrections in a timely manner.
Testing and Quality Assurance:
- Perform extensive testing of data conversion processes to identify and resolve issues.
- Collaborate with Quality Assurance (QA) teams to perform data validation checks and ensure data integrity.
- Maintain documentation of testing results and provide detailed reports.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain clear, detailed documentation on data conversion processes, including data mapping, transformation rules, and migration procedures.
- Generate progress reports for stakeholders, highlighting data conversion progress, issues, and resolutions.
- Provide regular updates to project managers and other relevant teams.
Collaboration and Communication:
- Work cross-functionally with project managers, business analysts, IT teams, and end-users to ensure successful data conversion outcomes.
- Communicate clearly and effectively with stakeholders, addressing concerns and gathering feedback as necessary.
- Collaborate with third-party vendors and service providers as required.
